Hi! I’m Shelby, owner of Lavella. I’m a devoted follower of Christ, wife to my husband of seven years, and mom to the greatest joy in my world, my 3 year old daughter.

Beauty has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My mom was a hairstylist, and I grew up in the salon watching women leave feeling more confident and beautiful than when they walked in. I started cosmetology classes in high school and earned my license shortly after graduating, originally believing I would become a hairstylist.

But God had a different path for me.

At 20 years old, newly married and working as a salon receptionist, I was given the opportunity to use a small service room and explore offering a new service. After researching my options, I took a leap of faith into eyelash extensions. I completed my first certification, ordered a kit, and started practicing on my mom in her living room with a small lamp and a whole lot of determination.

I immediately fell in love with lashes.

After announcing my services, my books began filling almost immediately. Just days before I was supposed to start, a lake accident left me with multiple broken fingers on my dominant hand. What felt like a major setback became a blessing in disguise. I spent those few months studying, practicing what I could, and learning everything possible about my new craft.

When I returned, Lavella took off. Within six months, I had built a clientele of more than 80 clients, and I knew I had found exactly where I was meant to be.

Now, more than six years later, I’m still just as passionate about this industry. Lavella has grown alongside me through so many seasons of life, and I’m incredibly grateful for every client who has trusted me along the way. My goal has always been bigger than simply creating beautiful lashes, it’s creating a space where women feel comfortable, cared for, confident, and beautiful.
